Booksmart – Film Review

If Spider-Man Far From Home is suitable for ages 8 and up, something more appropriate for high school seniors come from actor turned director Olivia Wilde. She gives us Booksmart , the story of Molly and Amy who are about to graduate high school and head to college. They’ve given 110% to school, forgoing any kind of distraction and they are pretty smug about it. When they discover all the kids who also enjoyed themselves socially at school rather than sacrificing everything to academic life are ALSO going to Ivy League colleges the girls just about explode and decide to spend their last night before graduation breaking all the rules. It is funny and absolutely spot on for any teenager wondering about getting that balance right between applying yourself to school AND being a teenager.

4 Stars – Brilliant
