It’s been 55 years since the iconic Aussie novel Storm Boy about a boy and his pelican was released, and 43 years since the first film adaptation, and rightly due for an update.
Finn Little plays Michael aka Storm Boy as a child, with Geoffrey Rush playing the modern day older version of the character who reflects on his life growing up on a remote beach with his Dad Hideaway Tom (Jai Courtney) and an aboriginal man named Fingerbone Bill played by Trevor Jamieson.
For me the film hinges on Storm Boy and Fingerbone Bills relationship and these two actors are absolutely brilliant. It’s an emotional and gorgeous Australian film with a strong environmental message, a must-see.
