Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween – Film Review

Something gentler for the young trick or treaters in your family and Goosebumps 2 – Haunted Halloween has a great mix of funny moments and spooky frights suitable for around 8 and up.

Two young friends, Sonny – Jeremy Ray Taylor from IT & Sam Caleel Harris from Castle Rock find a magic book that brings a ventriloquist’s dummy to life, of course it’s Slappy, the creepy yet not terrifying talking doll.

Slappy is doing his best to bring Halloween to life with scary results and the mix of CGI and practical effects provide a helpful inspiration for Trick or Treating costumes if you’re stuck!

Seeing the film with an 11 year old kid will definitely improve the experience, as Ruby and I went along to see this on a Friday afternoon and it was packed with different groups including families, and there was a lot of chatter which was actually totally fine as it felt like an amusement park ride.

3 Stars.
