February is a massive month for movies with many releases timed to make the most of Academy Awards season buzz.

The Theory of Everything is one of those films.

This was one my wife wanted to see, and we checked it out together and were blown away by Eddie Redmayne’s performance in the title role.

There has been a lot of talk that the story focuses too much on Hawking’s relationship with his wife – Jane Wilde  played by Felicity Jones, but as this film is based on her memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen.

Both Jones, and Eddie Redmayne have been nominated for Oscars for their performances, and the film is up for best picture too.

Ultimately this is a film about commitment and perseverance, and offers a gripping insight into what must have been an immensely taxing, and at times rewarding experience for the two of them.

One of the best aspects of the film is allowing us to see what a wickedly funny fellow Hawking is in amongst the brilliant mind.

Hands down 5 Stars.
