Gravity – Directed by Alfonso Cuarón

The pioneers of space movies from George Lucas & Steven Spielberg,  Ridley Scott, Stanley Kubrick, will be watching Alfonso Cuaros’ new blocklbuster Gravity with envy – thginking I wish I could have done that when I made, Star Wars, Alien and 2001 a Space Odyssey.

I LOVE sci fi and  space movies especially.

My nickname Jabba comes from Return of the Jedi, and I’ve been lucky enough to have been flown to Florida to report on the landing of a Space Shuttle.

I’ve been very happy to bag 3D because I think too often it;s used as a gimmick.

In Gravity – in 3D and on a big VMAX screen, not even ten minutes in I’m thinking this movie is not only a 5 star effort – it’s a game changer for everything that comes from now on.

How on Earth ( Ha) they were able to create a sense of being in Space 600 kilometeres above the Earth is just magical.

In a nutshell George Clooney is a veteran astronaut. Sandra Bullock is not. She’s a doctor plucked from civillian life to gon on this mission which if you’ve seen the trailer you’ll know ti goes horribly wrong.

I’m not going to say another word beyond – if you see one movie in 3D on a big screen this year – check out Gravity.

Beware though if you are prone toi motion sickness and get nauseous with the new apple ios 7, then you might want to take a sick bag.

5 stars
