The Place Beyond the Pines – Directed by Derek Cianfrance. Starring Ryan Gosling & Bradley Cooper.

Release Date – May 9th 2013

As a motorcycle rider the fact that there is stacks of motorbike action in this one is a great start for me. Reading reviews by critics and audiences online this is a really divisive film.

A really intense story of a no hoper motorcycle stunt guy named Luke played by Gosling who turns to robbing banks to support  his infant son.

Bradley Cooper is a rookie cop Avery Cross who crosses paths with Gosling and it ends badly for everyone.

This is a really tense film that builds and builds.

Ben Mendelsohn is brilliant as Luke’s mechanic friend Robin – get it – Robin banks?

This is another film Im keen to watch again, just to see how the events unfold.

Absolutely compelling performances from the whole cast, don’t read up on this film, just see it.

5 stars.
